THE PERSONNEL INVOLVE IN A TV PROGRAM PRODUCTION

The personnel involved in the production of a television program include creative talent such as actors, directors, writers, and producers as well as technical crew members such as camera operators, electrical technicians, and sound technicians.
Besides the above set of people, there are other persons who contribute immensely to the production of TV programs. The first among this group is the executive producer who is responsible for the complete project and is usually the person who conceives the project and sells it to the network. He also bears the final responsibility for the budget and all creative personnel including the writer, line producer, director and major cast members. The line producer reports to the executive producer and is responsible for the shooting schedule, budget, crew, and all production logistics.

The writer develops the script for each show. They also work during preproduction and rehearsals to correct problems encountered by the actors or directors, or to revise for production considerations.
The director helps to choose actors, locations, and the visual design of the production such as the style of sets and wardrobe. He is also accountable for the actors performances as well as the cameras. He also edits the videotape after the filming.
The production manager is responsible for all physical production elements, including equipment, crew, and location. The assistant director reports to the director, and is responsible for controlling the set, managing the extras and in all carrying out the directors needs. The cinematographer operates the camera and is responsible for lighting the set and the care and movement of the camera.
The videotape production involves a technical director, who is responsible for video recording, and video engineers, who are responsible for the maintenance and quality of the electronic equipment and their output.

There are different medium of disseminating information to the people, especially when it involves large number of people. These ranges from newspaper write ups, magazine, journals radios and the internet. All these are very good ways of bringing information to a large group of people.

However, the television is a very relevant means of spreading information. Its relevance in the spread of information cannot be overemphasized. It has proved to be a very effective way of taking information to the ends of the earth. The reason for this is not far fetched.
